University cooperation

“PX425E” is the name of this year’s fifth electric race car developed by the UPBracing Team at the University of Paderborn. Their goal for this season: to become even lighter and more efficient.

The team consists of 70 students from five different faculties who design, build, and market a race car to compete in international competitions against other university teams. The “Formula Student Germany” is held under the patronage of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). The aim is for students to work together to build a single-seater formula race car and compete against teams from around the world. But it’s not just the fastest car that wins—success depends on the best overall package of design and race performance, financial planning, and marketing strategy. This competition complements academic studies by offering hands-on experience across a wide range of disciplines.
